Commercial SPF Insulation
Bringing sustainable design and spray foam insulation together.
Spray Foam Masters open cell and closed cell spray foam insulation products are one-step performance materials which both insulate and air seal homes and commercial buildings for the lifetime of the structure. Our spray foam insulation is guaranteed to perform as specified for the life of your home or commercial building.
What makes sustainable design and spray foam insulation an ideal combination for architects?
- 30% of the energy used in commercial buildings is wasted on average.
- Commercial buildings cost their owners more than $100 billion annually in energy costs.
- Commercial buildings account for 18% of the nation’s energy use and nearly 18% of greenhouse gas emissions.
Spray Foam Masters typically will use closed-cell spray foam insulation for commercial applications. Closed-cell spray foam rapidly expands in place, eliminating energy-wasting cracks and gaps found in other insulation materials. Closed-cell spray foam can reduce liability because it can help control multiple factors that can negatively affect the durability of a building. We have listed some of the benefits of SPF insulation for commercial applications below.
Flexibility of Closed-Cell SPF Insulation
The many unique properties of closed-cell spray foam allow designers the freedom to apply on the interior or exterior of the structure.
HVAC Equipment Can Be Downsized
Spray Foam Masters’ clients have experienced a tightening the building envelope with interior insulation, which enables the use of smaller HVAC equipment. Spray foaming the roof will increase energy savings and provide the opportunity to further downsize the HVAC equipment.
Closed-cell spray foam is a superior insulation material that can meet code requirements as an air barrier, water barrier and vapor retarder. It also eliminates much of the caulking, taping and sealing requirements associated with traditional insulation materials.
Fast Environmentally Green Installation
SPF insulation can reduce construction time because it can fulfill multiple building envelope requirements in one monolithic spray. It reduces construction waste because it is sprayed on-site and is efficiently transported as bulk liquid.
Higher Energy Efficiency
SPF insulation will provide exceptional air sealing and thermal insulation performance, which virtually eliminates drafts and makes it possible to maintain a more constant indoor temperature. This obviously results in heating and cooling cost savings throughout the year.
SPF insulation won’t shrink or settle over time. Closed-cell spray foam maintains its size and thickness, and remains bonded to other construction materials, providing an impermeable air barrier for walls, floors and ceilings.
The seamless air barrier provided by SPF insulation helps prevent uncontrolled outdoor air infiltration and the penetration of dust, pollen and other allergens, which will provide an improved indoor air quality. Not only is the air quality better, but SPF also serves at a superior sound barrier. Spray foam can help reduce noise transfer and sound penetration because of its air barrier characteristics.
Closed-cell spray foam also offers superior performance in resisting moisture transmission and condensation because of its inherent moisture resistance and low vapor permeance.
